One of the stronger medicated snuffs I've tried, S.M. Blue can be intense and a bit off-putting. Expect a moderately moist, relatively low nicotine snuff with a medium-fine grind and robust menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus presences that are backed by subtler citrus impressions. Don't expect to pick up much from the base tobacco(s). This snuff is mostly about the top notes. It delivers a pronounced burn followed by a lasting cooling sensation and will instantly take care of any stuffiness you may be experiencing. While this snuff is enjoyable and definitely has its uses, its sharpness and intensity can be a bit much at times. I would not want to take it regularly, but I could see myself turning to it when my sinus issues flare up.
Advertised as WoS’ equivalent to Dr. Rumney’s Blue, to my taste they are pleasantly indistinguishable. To confirm my suspicions, I took a shot of either product simultaneously up each nostril and can wholeheartedly affirm, through rigorous scientific nasal testing, that they are one and the same. Not wanting to play Detective Colombo for too much longer, that is what tends to happen when products are made in the same factory by people who follow the same recipe. As unpleasant a cold wet sauna can be, the addition of camphor and citrus turns this Sharrow Medicated mixture into a relaxing warm sauna experience. I happily recommend.
This is the very first snuff I have tried. I quit smoking and chewing to look for something better and snuff is it. I will definately be purchasing more snuff as of this review.
S.M. Blue is one of my favorite medicated snuffs. It's great for clearing my sinuses and has a lovely, refreshing cooling sensation that I just can't get enough of. I find it to be very easy to sniff. I typically use it in a bullet and I've never oversnuffed it.
This is a wonderful snuff. The only reason it gets a 4 instead of a 5 from me is because it isn't a snuff that I can use all day. Rather, it's the kind of thing I turn to in times where my nose is stuffy or I just want to experience its relaxing cooling sensation. S.M. Blue is one I'll always keep around. Great snuff, highly recommended to anybody who enjoys medicated snuffs.
This review will be a simple one. Camphor! Can't get enough camphor? Try this. Not too bad I'd say as far as quality. But this has too little menthol- for me undetectable-and too much camphor. Probably a great sniff or two when one has a cold. And supposedly one of Wilson's best sellers, just not for me.
