Bernard Amostrinha 10g

Bernard, one of the most historic snuff-makers in Europe, was forced to shutter its line of tobacco-based snuffs due to new EU regulations. Let's hope that wiser heads prevail and they can get back to producing what has made them famous for centuries. Amostrinha is a perfect example of why so many of us love Bernard---there's simply nothing else like it. I can best describe it as a moderate moisture, lightly-mentholated snuff with beautiful notes of wood smoke, roasted nuts, cocoa, and ammonia. I've never tried anything else quite like it and I suspect that I never will again.

Lovely blast from the past, great smokey, leather, almost barbecue to it, but not over powering, still has an underlying cooling effect, not usually a fan of tap tins, but loved this one, always need this one in my rotation.

The grind is excellent, it has a lovely cooling effect. The smokiness is a bit strange and feels shoehorned in. It reminds me. Of being in an old bookstore full of leather, and they keep the thermostat set to 15 degrees ferenheit. A lot to unpack with this one. I can see it being very polarizing. Definitely worth a shot though.

I’m relatively new to the game. I’ve tried all Bernard has to offer, liking almost all of them. But this…this one hits different. A nice blend of earthy with a little appearance of something semi sweet. The menthol is perfect, meaning it just kind of hangs out and adds a little bit extra to an amazing blend. I highly recommend.

I imagine Northman hunting or sitting around a campfire jamming this up their nose before .... Whatever the Northman do!
