McChrystals S.P 8.75g
McChrystals S.P 8.75g
McChrystal's S.P. is a true homage to the epithet left by Sales and Pollard. The original recipe has been transmitted and altered since the 18th century. The essential ingredient is bergamot enhanced with a floral and minty bouquet laying over top perfectly aged broad leaf. This particular attempt to recreate the original S. P. blend is one of the best. A smooth and easy to take snuff that has a mild kick of nicotine and a pleasurable, long lasting aroma in the nose. Perfect to begin or end any day.

I love this snuff so much.. stopped drinking caffeine so I found that this was the perfect replacement and tastes like earl grey tea with slight squeeze of lemon. I can take large amounts of this at a time so even though it’s on the lower end of medium nicotine strength I can get a great sensation going from it after bulldozing a few shovels into each nostril. The drip is barely there as it’s sits calmly where you put it. If you sniff deep it gives you that brain burn but actually in a pleasant way that you sometimes want. Gives you that extra pep you need anytime of day. Great job on this SP. I’ve bought it twice now and will always be. Special one for me since it was my very first snuff when I started.
McChrystal's SP enjoys a reputation as being one of the best and most reliable SP snuffs on the market. Many dedicated snuffers consider it a favorite. I can't disagree. It is a lovely snuff that emphasizes the aromas contributed by the tobacco more than the lemon and bergamot, though both are still easily detectable. Its fine grind, moderate nicotine content, and relatively low moisture make it easy to take and perfect for just about any occasion. This snuff has become one of my go-to snuffs. I always keep a tin or two on hand. For those looking for a quality SP, I cannot recommend this one highly enough.
SP is a mild bergamot and lemon blend that showcases the tobacco more than the citrus flavouring. It is similar to Smoker’s Blend, but much milder; I would say it is almost creamier. Low in moisture and of medium grind, its nicotine content is on the low side. It is a civilized snuff, to be enjoyed on a lazy weekend’s morning whilst perusing either the Financial Times or the funny papers, whichever brings you more mirth.
This is a great SP. I really enjoy the level of bergamot they decided to go with. This one lets the base tobacco shine through along with the delightful light but persistent bergamot. Not my all day but I always keep some on hand for when the mood strikes. Probably my favorite sp out there.
I find this one a great addition to the SP side of the palate - in fact Id go so far as to note my slight preference to Wilsons SP100, or Gawiths SP . I get Bergamot 8/10 , lemon 2/10 - perhaps black pepper 2/10, there is a bitterness to it like pecan. Scent medium to long lasting. Grind is not super fine ( more coarse that HDT say ) but standard in its cohort. Moisture - is moderate mine wasn't dry , but not clumpy, quite fluffy texture. Insufflated it can pepper the throat ( which I like ). Minimal front drip moderate rear drip. No clogging. Can pound through this stuff ! Good nicotine content say, moderate.
